Ryan, Woody and the Sorcerer

"Ryan, Woody and the Sorcerer" Oil on Canvas  /  48" X 72"  /  2001
"This painting is called "Ryan,Woody and the Sorcerer" as a nod to my 3 year old son Ryan who is represented in the photo in the heart shaped gold frame resting on the foreground table next to the medicine bottles. "Woody" (who is located in the upper left hand corner of the painting with the cowboy hat on) is a character from the movie "Toy Story" and is Ryan's favorite toy that he has with him constantly. The "Sorcerer" (the small Mickey Mouse figurine on the center table casting a shadow against the wall) is symbolic for me of the magic and mystery of life that brought my wonderful son to me. I chose red as the predominant color scheme for the painting because red is symbolic of energy, excitement and most of all love, all of which I have in much greater supply since knowing my son."

Available as a Limited Edition Giclée Print
